They were misleading and did not offer to clarify the information. I signed up for IJL six years ago, I never even paid any money. I'm an attractive outgoing woman who likes to hunt, fish, vacation, cook, etc.
This information will help them fine-tune your next date with a potential match.First started in 1991 in Chicago, It's Just Lunch has grown to include locations across the globe. You will find It's Just Lunch locations in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, Caribbean and Australia. This matchmaking service takes the offline or traditional bricks-and-mortar approach for matching people, offering physical office locations you can visit. In over 18 years, It's Just Lunch has set up more than 2 million first dates, with many of them resulting in second dates. Each month for their 30,000 members, It's Just Lunch arranges, on average, 50,000 dates. However, the contract states that the period of membership is 6 months or 4 introductions, whichever comes LAST, so you will not get a refund if they cannot find decent matches, and they could drag it out indefinitely.
The IJL staff member I spoke to when I joined was very polite and professional. My dating coordinator calls me "sweetie" and does not acknowledge my feedback.
They don't listen to your interests and will set you up with whoever they want. They keep passing me along to different dating directors. They will not refund your money even though they cannot meet the description of their services. better business bureau, attorney general's office & yelp for honest reviews. So they show me a profile of a guy with zero information about him. After 4 months and not one match I ask how much the membership for just random dates. It finally got to the point in these dates that I think the dating coordinator realized the dates were actually quite awful. She said she wasn't going to charge me anymore until they had more matches in my area. I informed her of what the agreement was when she tried to set me up with a date who was 2 hours away with children (I wish I was kidding) and I wanted to keep the agreement where I wasn't going to be charged until there was a match in my area. About 6 months passed when I called to see what was going on with my file. Funny thing is the date the call had happened, I was vacationing in Europe for 3 weeks!! She then told me "Well, we tried to set you up with good matches." Not quite sure what a good match is in there eyes....... They clearly lie not only to you but make up some interesting stuff to sell you these dates. They seemed so professional until they received my payment. I was set up with exactly the opposite kind of people i requested. I am so thankful I read enough reviews on other sites to "not" invest in IJL.
I asked if he had seen my profile and they said no. You don't see profiles and they don't see profiles. I'm a very busy medical professional and had spent some time vacationing in Europe and around the U. I spoke with a different coordinator who told me her manager and I had apparently spoke and I had agreed that I was done with IJL and deactivated my file. I told the coordinator of like to speak to this person and it's been over a month with no call from her. But please whatever you do, stay away from this disaster of a service!! I had heard this from a few of the dates I went with Its just not worth it They were just sued by a group of women in New York for the multiple lies they would tell them. Do not sign up or pay this company any amount of money. After a really bad date, they extended my membership free for 1 month, but guess what? I am sure they will come up with a date right before my membership expires and try to talk me into extending my membership. I just flew Southwest and saw the ad in the magazine they provide and they should pull it!!!
Early on they called me daily no matter what I said and the calls never stopped. The fourth was obviously not interested in being on this date. The 2 years I have been with this company I've had the worst dates ever! Also, of the dates, very rarely did I have anything in common with them. Some of them literally just stared at me (no lie) and a couple who actually did engage in conversation I found out we really had nothing in common and were clearly not a good match.
I spoke to someone last year and told them I was engaged and not interested and the calls started again this week, every freaking day. This is a cash cow for the company and the employees are unprofessional and untrained. I live in a major city and 95% of the dates they had chosen for me live atleast 2 hours away. They never paid any attention to what I had asked for and would continue to set me up with men with children who lived 2 hours away. One "match" actually sent me half naked pictures of himself the following day so I wouldn't forget what he looked like. It was as if they just picked men at random and gave no thought to who I was matched with. Many times at the dates I would pay the full bill just to get out of there.
IJL states they may recruit recent members to come back for dates, but a member from 6 years ago hardly seems recent.
